These relaxed and welcoming sessions invite families to explore the joy of nature through creativity, imagination, and seasonal inspiration. With blossom as our theme, we’ll celebrate growth, colour, and the changing world around us.

This workshop is led by artist Nocciola The Drawer, who will guide families through playful, accessible creative activities inspired by nature and the season.

• Explore ideas of blossom, nature, and play through creative activities
• Design and decorate their own spring plant pot
• Create a decorated seed envelope to fill with seeds and take home
• Enjoy time to create, talk, and connect in a supportive environment

During the workshop, families will:

No experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to get creative together. These sessions are about enjoying the process, trying new things, and making something meaningful as a family.

Each workshop offers a chance to slow down, get hands-on with nature, and take home something living to care for and watch grow.

Blossom & Play is part of Wild Imagining, a PLACE Lab initiative inviting communities across Durham City and surrounding villages to reimagine their connection with local green spaces through art, culture, and collective creativity. From parks and river paths to allotments and natural landmarks, Wild Imagining is where creativity meets community, and shared ideas take root in the landscapes we call home.

Nocciola The Drawer is an artist, adventurer, and creative cheerleader from the Northeast. She uses colour and creativity to uplift, inspire, and celebrate people in public spaces.
