Mindfully Connect, Create and Explore Together
Join us for a magical Blossom Bathing experience, inspired by Shinrin-yoku (Forest Bathing), designed especially for kinship families with children aged 5–12. Take a break from the noise of everyday life and immerse yourselves in nature with Through the Trees.
Together, we’ll explore the grounds of Redhills Durham Miners Hall, pausing for mindful moments and sensory activities that help us connect with ourselves, each other, and the natural world. Through playful exploration, we’ll engage our senses, slow down, and notice the beauty around us.
Along the way, families will enjoy a hands-on craft activity, a chance to get creative together, as well as time to relax. We’ll finish with a peaceful tea gathering, where you can sample foraged teas and homemade cake or snacks made with seasonal wild ingredients.
Perfect for families seeking calm, connection, and quality time in a beautiful setting. No experience needed, just curiosity and a sense of adventure.
Blossom Bathing offers a refreshing opportunity for families to step away from busy routines and experience nature in a new, gentle way. It is part of the wider Blossom & Play creative programme for kinship families in County Durham.
Blossom & Play is part of Wild Imagining, a PLACE Lab initiative inviting communities across Durham City and surrounding villages to reimagine their connection with local green spaces through art, culture, and collective creativity. From parks and river paths to allotments and natural landmarks, Wild Imagining is where creativity meets community, and shared ideas take root in the landscapes we call home.
