Small Pleasures is a community exhibition celebrating the personal connections people have with Wharton Park through art, storytelling, and shared creativity. Led by artist Zara Worth in collaboration with Creativity Works and Durham County Council’s Parks and Countryside Team, the project invited participants to create miniature golden sculptures inspired by the park’s landscapes, memories, and atmosphere.
The exhibition features photographs by Richard Eyers documenting both the artworks and the stories behind them, offering a glimpse into the many ways local green spaces shape community life and imagination.
Part of the wider Wild Imagining programme, the project explores how art and creativity can deepen relationships with parks, nature, and public spaces across Durham and surrounding communities.
