Event Details

Following the Creativity Works Wild Imagining event in University College Fellows’ Garden, we are delighted to invite you to a special walking workshop in the beautiful setting of the Durham Castle and Cathedral World Heritage Site.

Led by Jane Lovell from Canterbury Christ Church University, this workshop will explore the riverbanks of the Durham peninsula and consider how the natural voices of a place shape our thoughts, feelings and stories.

Together, we will reflect on how these experiences can contribute to the development of a new animism and storytelling toolkit for stewards of natural heritage sites and cultural landscapes.

This event is part of research into people’s relationships with nature at World Heritage Sites, and the insights gathered will help inform a new UNESCO toolkit.

We will begin at 10.00am at 7 Owengate for refreshments and a short introduction to the project, before setting off on a circular walking route around the peninsula.

Please wear sturdy footwear suitable for walking.
